Welcome to Atlanta 2007!
Atlanta is indeed a crossroads city and a phoenix that has risen from its ashes on more than one occasion. Historically, Atlanta was the nexus of southern railways and trade routes. Entering the latest century, Atlanta is now a major global hub for transportation, industry, and culture. The theme of the 2007 ARLIS/NA conference in Atlanta -- "At the Crossroads: Inside, Outside, Past, Present, Future..." -- references Atlanta's history as well as its present role in the development of the New South. Likewise, it references the many challenges we face and the complex decisions we must make as information professionals and library managers in the 21st Century.
